Day two.

This morning the agricultural team headed out to check on a field that they hope to work at. After everyone had breakfast we all climbed aboard the vans and bus and headed west toward Salinas Grandes. Meanwhile, the agricultural team headed off to Leon to pickup the last supplies that they determined they needed to complete the development of the fields. Twenty pastor’s wives attended the Bible study and practical sessions that the ladies of the team had prepared. Bibles, donated by the womens ministry of Westbrook church, were given to the attendes. Meanwhile our team worked with the pastor’s children freeing the wives to focus on their lessons. We were also able to teach Bible lessons to the children of the village. In total there were over 50 children that we had the privledge of working with. While all this was happening at the Salinas Grande church, the college team taught a Bible lesson and Bible verse to about 50 children at another village a few miles away. After they taught from the Word they put on a sports clinic for the children. Teaching baseball in a big field was a big hit with the kids. They also played soccer and some other games with the smaller children. It’s nearing dinner time and the team is glad to be back at the base for a cool shower after hours in the hot Nicaraguan sun. The meals have been wonderful and the team is really pulling together. It is so exciting to see how God uses people that are willing to step out for Him. Despite age differences and coming from various parts of the US the team is working well together. We thank God for a safe day and ask for good rest and strength for tomorrow. Pray for the agricultural team as they are still trying to secure the final needed supplies. They are also looking forward to a meeting tomorrow with a local technician to check over some specifics. Also, please pray for God to prepare hearts of the people we are working with to receive His word. Finally, pray that God will work in the hearts of the team members and teach them what He has for them. Thanks for your part in this endeavour. 1/5/09 11:16pm
